Volunteers needed for colourful Sheffield sculpture trail arriving this summer
Bringing together families and friends, businesses, schools, artists and the community, the Bears of Sheffield trail will begin in July and support the fundraising drive to build a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
It will comprise of 60 big bears, standing at 2.1m tall, sponsored by local businesses, organisations and families, as well as 100 little bears which have been fundraised for and decorated by schools, nurseries and colleges.

Hide AdThe Children’s Hospital Charity are today appealing for volunteers to help ensure the project’s success.
Shauna Mosley, Volunteer Co-ordinator at The Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We are looking for energetic, flexible, committed, selfless and passionate individuals to be a part of our great volunteer team!”
“The Bears of Sheffield are ready to take over the city this summer, creating excitement and bringing smiles to people’s faces. Every penny raised will help build a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward and today we’re asking for your help to make it the best it can possibly be.”
There are several volunteering roles available, including:
Merchandise Volunteers: To deliver Bears of Sheffield merchandise to various sites across the city, as well as run stalls.

Hide AdEvents Volunteers: To help with the special Bears of Sheffield preview, bye bye and auction events.
Logistic and Maintenance Volunteers: To assist in the preparation and movement of the Bears of Sheffield, such as bubble-wrapping and helping with the positioning of the sculptures across the city.
These volunteers would also help with the cleaning and presentation of the sculptures, ensuring every bear looks its best.
Fundraising Volunteers: This role would include manning the donation stations and bucket collections, ensuring as much as possible is raised for Sheffield Children’s.
