Hunt, who will turn 21 later this month, is reaching a pivotal part of his career having broken through into the first team ranks at Hillsborough, and will be itching to play more football next season as he seeks to keep up his development.
It has already been reported that Wednesday do have a one-year option on the young midfield man, but at this point in time there has been no confirmation of whether they’ve opted to exercise that yet.

Hide AdThe Star understands that there a clubs in both the Championship and League One who are keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old’s situation as they wait to find out if he could be available come July 1st, however Wednesday’s option does mean that the ball remains firmly in their court for now – and it’s understood that remaining with the Owls would be the player’s first choice.
It’s thought that Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town – amongst others – have got Hunt on their radar as things stand, while on the international stage he’s also made it onto the periphery of the Republic of Ireland youth setup.
As per EFL regulations, Wednesday technically had to inform Hunt – and others – by the third Saturday in May (15th) whether they would be exercising their one-year options, but at this stage there has been no indication of whether they’ve done so or not.
Darren Moore doesn’t know yet exactly what his Owls squad will look like next season, but relegation and the expiration of a number of senior contracts could give a big chance to Hunt and his fellow Owls youngsters as they hope to kick on and make a name for themselves at Hillsborough.
