Sheffield Wednesday star Andre Green gives Darren Moore the thumbs up after manager merry-go-round

Andre Green, who came in during the January transfer window, has played under Neil Thompson, Darren Moore and Jamie Smith since his arrival, but missed out on the changing of the guard that took place under Garry Monk and Tony Pulis.
The attacker, who was one of the Owls’ only standout performers in the defeat to Middlesbrough last weekend, admits that it isn’t easy playing for so many different managers, but admits that he’s fully optimistic about the current setup.

Hide AdSpeaking at the Riverside over the weekend, the attacker said, “It’s difficult if you’ve got different managers, because every manager wants different things and has a different style of play. But the manager we’ve got now is very, very good. For players like myself he’s really good, and he gets the best out of me. Even with Sivvy (Smith) and Willo (Paul Williams), it filters down from the manager. His presence isn’t here, but those two are exactly the same.”
And despite their perilous position – four points adrift of safety with six points to play for – he says the players remain positive, though acknowledges that they shouldn’t be in this situation in the first place.
Green said, “At the start of the season with the points deduction, I think everybody wrote us off then… I only came in in January and it was six points at that time, but at this club – with the players we’ve got – we shouldn’t be in this position anyway in terms of our results and playing-wise.
“But for some reason, and I don’t know why, it just hasn’t really clicked. I don’t know if that’s the mentality, or something is hanging over our heads, but every day in training we’re really bright and we’ve got a great group with a lot of leaders. We are very positive, but we’ve got a big task.”
