An instant return to the red-hot form that saw them rise to third place at Christmas could see them re-enter the playoff conversation. Picking up where they left off prior to the lockdown, however, could see the Owls begin to look nervously over their shoulders, especially with the threat of a potential points deduction looming over the club.
Speaking to The Star earlier in the lockdown, first-team coach Lee Bullen laid down the challenge to the Owls players to make the most of the pause in the season and aim for the top six.

Hide AdBut Wednesday pair Moses Odubajo and Joey Pelupessy revealed that no definite targets have been spoken about by management since the club’s return to training last week, with Garry Monk having spoken about taking each fixture as it comes.
“We’ve not spoken too much about it,” Odubajo told The Star.
“The boys just want to win as many games as possible and see where we end up. No targets have been set, no goals have been made.
“We just want to take every game as it comes. If we perform to our best we’ll win games, we know that.

Hide Ad“And if we can’t win we need to find a way to start making sure we don't lose.”
And Pelupessy, speaking to the media this week following the extension of his Wednesday contract, followed a similar line.
“After a lot of losing, it is hard to put a clear target on it,” he said.
“We need to be ready and prepare really well for that first game. The most important thing is we prepare ourselves really well and not look too far ahead.”
