The 24-year-old, who is in possession of the Owls gloves following Keiren Westwood’s recent fall from favour, is out of contract in the summer and is reportedly the subject of interest from Derby County and Scottish giants Rangers among others.
Speaking ahead of their clash with Brentford on Saturday, Owls boss Monk suggested the lifelong Wednesdayite would be offered a new deal.

“The main thing is that you’re wanted, if I'm wanted here then that's the main thing for me.
“I’ve had some really open, positive talks with the manager.
“In terms of contract talks, that’s not started yet.”
And Dawson, who previously enjoyed a spell as the club’s number one under Jos Luhukay, is relaxed about having to wait to discuss a new deal.

“I'm at a great football club here, of course I’m open to contract talks.
“Like I say, that hasn’t started yet, but as and when that does happen, happy days.”
The keeper will retain his place for this weekend’s visit of the Bees, with both Keiren Westwood and Joe Wildsmith recovering from injury.
Paul Jones is expected to keep his spot on the bench.
