Hutchinson and Nuhiu made over 430 appearances for the Owls – often alongside each other – during their days in South Yorkshire, but they found themselves on opposite sides on Sunday evening following their respective moves to the Cypriot First Division.
Sadly though, there wasn’t chance for them to actually do battle on the field, with Pafos’ new midfielder – donning the number 6 and ‘Hutch’ on the back of his shirt – being sent off just after half time, around 10 minutes before Nuhiu entered the fray for APOEL.

Hide AdIt was, however, Hutchinson who walked away with three points following a late penalty from Onni Valakari, earning them three points to take them up to seventh place. APOEL are ninth.
The pair have both ended up on the island following the decision not to renew their contracts at Wednesday at the end of the 2019/20 season, and will no doubt have enjoyed seeing a familiar face over the weekend after leaving English shores for greener pastures elsewhere.
While Hutchinson got the last laugh this time, Nuhiu will have an opportunity to regain bragging rights over his former teammate next year, with the two teams meeting once again early in the new year.
Elsewhere, Steven Fletcher got his first goal for Stoke City since leaving the Owls, opening the scoring in their 2-0 victory over Luton Town – Stoke currently have exactly the same record as Wednesday in the league, with eight points collected so far.
