The Owls are on the hunt for Tony Pulis’ replacement after deciding to part ways with him last month, but a run of three straight wins since then has bought the chairman, Dejphon Chansiri, a bit of time – as well as probably some justification.
And while Chansiri’s eager to take as much time as he needs in order to avoid making another ‘mistake’ when appointing the next manager, it does leave them in a bit of a tricky situation regarding recruitment, as well as the renewal of contracts.

But on top of that, Wednesday also have several senior players such as Barry Bannan, Adam Reach, Kadeem Harris and Tom Lees (among others) who’ll see their contracts expire at the end of the season, as well as a plethora of youngsters in a similar situation.
But with the focus of the club being the search for a new manager – while some players may not want to commit until they know who will be taking over – there doesn’t appear to be any immediate movement in terms of renewals or incomings.
Wednesday have already been linked with a number of players since the transfer window opened, though for now they remain just that - links.
