Forestieri is one of only two players currently at Wednesday who have scored more than 40 goals in the club’s colours (the other being Atdhe Nuhiu), and the Argentine forward has quite the highlight reel in Sheffield having scored a number of special goals over the years.
Now, having reportedly turned down big-money offers in the past, the Owls look set to be on the verge of losing the attacker for free come July, with no new deal in place as he enters into the last two weeks of his current deal.

Cominelli explained, “Fernando has been working hard, he’s ready, he’s available and wants to play if he’s selected. But there’s been no word from the club about anything beyond June 30th when his contract expires, so he will be free on July 1st after the first two games of the restart.”
The 30-year-old is one of many Wednesday players who will be out of contract in a couple of weeks, with Joey Pelupessy the only senior player to have had an extension announced so far.
