Eddie Nketiah latest: Sheffield Wednesday target set to secure 'imminent' Championship loan move

The Arsenal youngster, who was recalled from his season-long loan at table-topping Leeds United because of a lack of game time, has been the subject of interest from a number of second tier clubs, including Sheffield Wednesday.
And it has been reported by The Athletic that after the Gunners’ 1-0 FA Cup third round win over Leeds United last night, Nketiah will be freed up to make his second loan move of the season, most likely to Bristol City.

Hide AdSpeaking last week Wednesday boss Garry Monk refused to rule the Owls out of the running for Nketiah but admitted the loan market is proving difficult to navigate.
The 40-year-old said he wanted to add attacking options to his squad.
“The more high calibre, the more difficult it is,” he said. “But we need to keep pushing for those and having discussions.
“Those discussions are going on and we do have certain targets. We’ll try and push for that.”

Hide AdReports in the Bristol Post last week hinted that a deal with Bristol City was imminent. The Robins are big favourites to secure the short-term signature of the 19-year-old forward, with Huddersfield, Nottingham Forest, Hull, Middlesbrough and Wigan also interested.
Bookmakers have Wednesday (8/1) set as third-favourites to sign Nketiah behind Bristol City (1/5) and Forest (5/1).
Wednesday have also been tipped to move for Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster, who is more heavily linked with Swansea, and Southampton winger Josh Sims.
