Warrior Bash and a quality goal from a quality player: Sheffield United player ratings as Blades bow out with win over Burnley
and live on Freeview channel 276
David McGoldrick scored a goal fit to win any game to give United the points, something they can hopefully take into the Championship next season after a tough relegation this campaign.
Here’s how we rated United’s players.
Aaron Ramsdale 8
Named United's player of the year before kick-off, Ramsdale was serenaded with chants of 'England's number one' after touching over an early effort from McNeil. Did brilliantly to deny Wood in the second half, although the striker was offside anyway,

Shrugged off the injury that kept him out at Everton to retain his place and was good throughout. Picked up an early yellow for taking out Josh Brownhill, who then assumed the part of pantomime villain throughout the game with Blades fans accusing him of cheating. Kept McNeil quiet to the point he was substituted
Chris Basham 7
The post/crossbar is probably still shaking now after Basham's shot cannoned back off it in the first half as the Blades looked for a second goal. Had to receive medical treatment a few moments later when he was pushed into Ramsdale's knee as he came to claim a cross. Later booked for professional foul on Vydra
John Egan 7
The Irishman will have known he was in for a tough afternoon aerially against Burnley, and he didn't shy away from the challenge. Kept Wood quiet and could have had a goal at the other end, getting his head to at least one corner from Fleck
Jack Robinson 8
Looked cool and calm in possession and could have had an assist when his wicked cross from the left, right in what Sir Geoffrey would call the corridor of uncertainty, was blocked by Dunne with Jebbison lurking. Did superbly at the other end to deny Vydra a sight of goal with two minutes remaining of normal time before snuffing out Wood's chance of an equaliser in injury time

Kept Lowton quiet defensively down the right and also got forward to support the attack as well, linking up nicely with Fleck and Robinson at times.
Ollie Norwood 6
Had to be alert to head away from danger on one of the rare occasions Ramsdale came for the ball and didn't claim it comfortably. Lost the ball in midfield on occasions but also looked threatening with it at times too as he looked to set Jebbison free in behind
Ben Osborn 7
Typically busy, and had the confidence to shoot from long-range and force Will Norris to fumble his shot. Drove United forward with the ball and made good runs in behind to give his teammates an option. Will be a very useful player in the Championship next season
John Fleck 6
Will at least go into this summer's European Championships with the feeling of winning a game, something the Scot hasn't felt too often this season. He was solid rather than spectacular here, doing the 'ugly' side of the game well and also using the ball well when the opportunity arose

Could have been more selfish when he closed down a defender and fashioned an opening, but left it for McGoldrick whose shot was closed down. Worked tirelessly for the cause and was close to a second Premier League goal from Robinson's superb cross, but Dunne did well to block. Received a healthy round of applause when he was replaced by Brewster
David McGoldrick 8
Scored a typically-quality goal to put the Blades ahead, curling into the bottom corner after the Burnley defence parted like the red sea. Was everywhere after that and was rightly hailed by the Kop as he conducted his post-match media duties. Top player, top man.
Subs
Rhian Brewster 6
A roar from the Kop greeted his introduction as he replaced Jebbison and how they would have wished his side-footed effort found the corner rather than the gloves of Will Norris.
Phil Jagielka n/a
Came on to a standing ovation for what seemed like a swansong appearance and had Oli McBurnie, sat in the stands, cheering his every touch and more.
