What Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder said about Jack Rodwell
The former Everton, Manchester City and England midfielder agreed a short-term move to Bramall Lane on Friday, 48 hours before making his debut during the FA Cup victory over AFC Fylde.
Despite choosing to deploy Rodwell in defence for the third round tie - United play with three at the back, including two overlapping centre-halves - Wilder said: “I thought you saw Jack’s undoubted quality, especially in an unusual position.

Rodwell, aged 28, started the 2-1 win alongside Luke Freeman and Mo Besic, who were also singled out for praise by Wilder.
“Luke Freeman was good, I enjoyed watching him,” he said. “And Mo Besic did what he does.”
