Sheffield football club furious after rival team trains on their pitches during lockdown

Stocksbridge Park Steels Juniors claimed another junior football side trained on their fields at Forge Lane, Oughtibridge on Sunday morning without their knowledge or approval.
A club spokesperson said: "The club finds it shocking that another team would behave in this way and potentially make a return of junior football even more difficult.”

Hide AdNon-elite football remains suspended in England because of the latest coronavirus lockdown. A return date is not currently known.
Roger Gissing, vice chairman of Stocksbridge Park Steels, said: "They are investigating who it might be. Talking to some of the residents down there, there's one or two people going down there using the facility without permission.
“There’s some suspicions about who they are."
The club will now be completing random checks of the pitches and said anyone caught training there will be reported to the police and Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA.
