Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is set to leave his role today Friday (March 12) after almost five years in charge. We went to The Moor in Sheffield city centre and asked Sheffield United fans for their reaction to the news.

The reaction to Wilder’s abrupt departure left fans disappointed and disgusted at the news.

Dean Johnson said: “It’s disgusting I think.

“After all that bloke’s done for the club. They wouldn’t give him any money for transfers but they will buy another club. How it has been done is all wrong.

“He hasn’t been given the respect he deserves – people have got to remember where we were when he took over.

“That’s football all over these days – it’s not just United. It’s not football now it’s a business. They are more bothered about money.”

Ayshea Homar said: “I don’t think he should go, I think they are being a bit harsh on him. They should give him a bit of a chance and see how we go on. They have to remember we haven’t been able to get to matches.

“He’s done everything for the club he has been able to give. When we’ve been asked to put money in we are not putting enough money into the squad at all. It’s every season we get this.

“Last season we had the best defensive season. He took us out of the Championship and everything.

“I think we are going to lose a lot of players who were behind him and who would have stayed for him. He’s one of us Wildey – he’s a Blade through and through.”
