Allen hunting two-for-one bargain deals to finalise squad
The Chesterfield boss says he has to get two players out for every one who comes in.
“I was thinking about it when I was trimming my roses this morning,” he said.

“If we get two out we can get one in.
“It helps with the budget if we try not to get anywhere near the full value of the two going out and try to pick up those bargain bucket signings.
“People might be suspicious that we’re paying out mega bucks but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
“It’s two going out for one coming in, which is what my bosses have instructed me to do and so far I think it’s going well.”

“We need no more than three, that should give us two goalkeepers and about 17 outfield players, if the negotiations with current players find some solutions,” he said.
“You can only have 16, 11 players and five substitutes, so 19 is more than enough. That will be the absolute maximum.
“If you do need extra players I know for sure we can get some help from some of the local clubs around us.”
