Woman raped after leaving students' union in Sheffield
South Yorkshire Police received an allegation today that a 19-year-old woman was attacked as she made her way home from the University of Sheffield's students' union, Western Bank, at around 4am.
The woman told officers that she asked a taxi driver to take her to an address in Broomhill but during the journey the taxi stopped and she was attacked.
No other details have yet been released.

Hide AdDetective Constable Michelle Walton, the investigating officer, said: “I would like to reassure residents that this investigation is being treated as an absolute priority and we have a dedicated team of officers working on it.
“We will be reviewing CCTV footage of the area and following up a number of lines of enquiry in relation to this incident and a thorough investigation is now under way.
“The victim is currently receiving support from specially trained officers and I would ask that anyone who was in the area at the time or who saw anything suspicious to please come forward and contact police.”
