Transport affected by snow - bus services diverting or cancelled
A number of Sheffield bus services are being affected by the snowy conditions today. The Stagecoach 61 and 62 services have been suspended today due to the weather. Find the latest updates both here and in the article below.

Major secondary school closing at 11.10am
All Saints Catholic High School on Granville Road, Sheffield has just announced it will be closing at 11.10am. The school has said pupils with permission to leave the school will be able to do so at the closing time. Parents of any All Saints pupils who are yet to provide permission are urged to text their permission to their children.
Tapton and Silverdale Schools send all pupils home
Tapton School are sending all pupils home due to the snowy conditions, the school has just confirmed.
Silverdale School have also confirmed they will be closing. In a small social media comment, they said: “Silverdale School will be closing today, Thursday 9 March, at 11.15am. We have been monitoring the situation with the weather and consequently have taken the decision to close the school today at 11.15am. Students should access work remotely, on Google Classroom this afternoon.”
High Storrs dismissed pupils at 11.15am
High Storrs secondary school said in a statement: “We have taken the decision to close HSS school early today (9/3) students will be dismissed from 11.15 onwards. See email for further details.”
Aston Academy closing within the hour
Aston Academy in Swallownest is closing this afternoon from 12.20, an email sent to parents has revealed. Aston becomes the latest school to opt to shut it’s doors as Sheffield continues to be buried under a blanket of snow.
Flurry of school closure announcements through Sheffield City Council
Sheffield City Council’s Twitter account has revealed a flurry of school closures in the last 30 minutes. King Edward VII, Meadowhead School, Brightside Nursery Infant School and Porter Croft Primary have all revealed they are closing.
King Edward VII revealed they were closing in a statement shared at 11.09am.
Meadowhead School will be closing from 12.15pm.
Brightside Nursery will be closing from 1.15pm.
Porter Croft will be closing from 1pm.
