Services were back to normal today after being diverted away from the centre of Firth Park yesterday afternoon because of antisocial behaviour.
But Martin McGowan, regional marketing manager for the bus operator First, said: “There have been a number of alleged incidents over the weekend (including Stagecoach), where youths have targeted buses with some sort of missile. The team believe that likely to be a BB gun. The police are aware and investigating.

Nearly a dozen bus routes had been affected by the incidents as operators avoided Firth Park on Sunday.
Travel South Yorkshire and Stagecoach Yorkshire both tweeted passengers about the diversions they were putting in place at the time.
