Tram trains between Sheffield and Rotherham resume after latest suspension due to 'safety issue'

The operator Stagecoach Supertram announced the suspension today at around 1.20pm.
“The Tram Train Service is cancelled until further notice due to a Safety Issue. More details to follow,” it tweeted.

Hide AdThe operator later said the suspension was down to a vehicle issue which had resulted in reduced tram availability.
But it announced soon after that services were resuming, with the first departures scheduled from Sheffield Cathedral at 3.01pm and from Parkgate at 3.31pm.
The service was previously suspended from December 13-17 after the entire tram train fleet was withdrawn from service on the advice of the manufacturer while checks were carried out.
News of the latest cancellation has been met with an angry response from passengers.
