HISTORY LESSON
Wednesday have not won any of their last seven meetings with Ipswich Town. When the two sides last collided in April, it finished all square at Hillsborough. Fernando Forestieri opened scoring in the 42nd minute, hitting his third goal in five matches, but substitute Andre Dozzell rescued a point for the Tractor Boys after the break. You have to go back to April 2007 for the last time Wednesday beat Ipswich in their own backyard, with Glenn Whelan and Steven MacLean scoring in a 2-0 win. Ipswich prevailed in the Portman Road clash last season despite falling behind to a 19th minute strike by Ross Wallace. But the Tractor Boys condemned Carlos Carvalhal to his first defeat in charge of the Owls after goals either side of half-time from Freddie Sears and Tommy Smith.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Andy Madley - The West Yorkshire-based whistler has overseen 15 matches this season, issuing 47 bookings and no red cards. It will be the first time Madley has officiated an Owls match since January 2013 when he took charge of their goalless draw with Wolves. Madley’s younger brother, Bobby, is also a referee.
