Sheffield tree campaigner says council has '˜jumped the gun'
Heeley campaigner Dave Dillner has lodged another appeal after a judge found in favour of the council’s Streets Ahead contract with Amey, which aims to update every road, footpath and streetlight in the city.
Mr Dillner has been locked a long-running legal battle with the council after taking opposition to the felling of healthy trees as part of the £2.2 billion contract.

“The Court of Appeal has listed a renewal hearing for permission to appeal and a new injunction on July 27.”
Coun Bryan Lodge, cabinet member for the environment, said he was ‘disappointed’ Mr Dilner had taken the action.
He said: “The High Court turned down Mr Dillner’s claim as flawed... we are disappointed that he has taken this action.

Mr Dillner said he had received support from experts around the globe.
He said: “I would urge the council to use internationally approved methods to save mature, healthy trees.
“The world is watching.”
