Sheffield stabbing: Man, 18, in hospital in serious condition after police called to Sharrow Lane

Police said they were called to Sharrow Lane yesterday, Saturday January 27, at around 5pm, following reports of a man being stabbed.

Hide AdSouth Yorkshire Police said an 18-year-old man had been taken to hospital, where he remains this morning in a 'serious condition'.
"An investigation is underway to identify those responsible and anyone with information is asked to get in touch online, via live chat or by calling 101 quoting incident number 667 of 27 January 2024," the force added.
Where did the stabbing happen and have there been any arrests?
There was a huge police presence at the scene near Tesco Express, close to the junction with Washington Road, yesterday evening.
One passerby reporting seeing around six police cars and two ambulances, plus a rapid response vehicle.

Hide AdWhen The Star visited this morning, at around 11am, there was no cordon in place and just one police car still present, at the corner of Sharrow Lane and Club Garden Road.
One resident told us that she understood the stabbing had happened in the car park across the road from the flats on Sharrow Lane.
No one is understood to have been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
Saturday's stabbing is believed to be the 17th in Sheffield which The Star has reported on since the beginning of 2023.
