Sheffield murder probe: everything we know so far

Who is the victim?
The 21-year-old man has been named locally as Jordan Hill, who was reportedly a father. A friend described him as a 'nice young lad' who had been a big Sheffield Wednesday fan.

Hide AdHis mother Kelly Hill today issued an emotional plea for help to catch his killer.
"I just want my boy back. I need to hold him," she wrote on Facebook.
"Please, please if anyone knows anything please say," she added.
When and where did it happen?
Emergency services were called to a house in Southey Avenue, Longley, yesterday evening at 9.45pm.

Hide AdA man was found injured and rushed to hospital, where he died later that evening.
Has anyone been arrested?
No one has been arrested so far in connection with the stabbing. South Yorkshire Police has said it is in the 'initial stages' of its investigation.
"Enquiries are underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and a murder investigation has been launched," said a spokeswoman for the force as a cordon remained in place at the scene today.
How has the community reacted?
People in the area have spoken of their shock. One neighbour told how it was 'a bit scary' and another called the tragic death 'really upsetting'.

Hide AdBrian Castleton, who has lived in Longley for 60 years, said it used to be the city's most sought-after council estate but crime had escalated there in the last few years.
Tributes pour in
Floral tributes were today mounting close to the scene of the tragedy, and there has also been an outpouring of grief on Facebook.
A floral tribute from 'Auntie Jo' read 'To Jordan, love you, miss you', and another stated 'I love you so much, you will be missed.'
Brad Roebuck paid his respects on Facebook, writing: "Rest in Peace big bro, all my love to your mom's Family and Lillys too, I can't believe what I'm hearing. Seems like yesterday i was sat in your flat sharing a drink, you will never be forgotten rest in paradise."
