Former Rotherham rehab centre could be demolished to make way for career centre
and live on Freeview channel 276
Four buildings stand on the site, which forms part of the Badsley Moor Lane Hospital complex on Badsley Moor Lane, Clifton.
Application documents state that the buildings used to provide residential rehabilitation accommodation, but are "no longer required", and are being disposed of by the NHS.

Hide AdThe application would see the demolition of four single storey buildings and the erection of one new building with a floor area of 1165sqm spread over twofloors, along with 22 car parking spaces and a cycle store.
The rest of the hospital site would be unaffected, it is understood.
The careers hub would provide career education for pupils from 25 Rotherham schools and colleges , in a bid to help them with their job prospects when they leave education.
Around 150 pupils would be able to attend the site per day, with a total of 20,000 youngsters in the catchment area benefiting from the service.

Hide AdPlanning documents state: "The careers hub is a new concept which will provide the young people of Rotherham and surrounding areas with expert impartial career guidance, and support them to make informed, aspirational career and future study choices."
Eight objections have been lodged, on the grounds of decreasing house prices, flooding in the area, inadequate drainage from the site which is affecting residents health, and the impact on patients with breating difficulties the remaining NHS buildings.
The scheme is reccomended for approval at Rotherham planning board's next meeting on June 10.
