Police search Sheffield estates for weapons
Officers are searching for weapons in Manor and Arbourthorne in a day of action organised as part of 'Operation Fortify'.

Hide AdOfficers will be looking for weapons which may have been hidden in public spaces to be available for use, or those which may have been dumped after being used in crimes.
In February a number of similar searches were carried out across the city as part of a national week of action against knife crime, codenamed 'Operation Sceptre,' which was aimed at reducing knife crime in response to an increase in offences across the country.
