Sheffield’s Alex Best should have been taking part in his second London to Paris bike ride this summer but due to the coronavirus this, of course, had to be postponed until a future date.
The event was to raise money for Cure Leukaemia and determined to do his bit Alex decided to complete the challenge on a static bike in his house.

“The ride covers 300 miles over four days.
“Sadly, this event like many others has been postponed due to the global pandemic and current lockdown restrictions.”
He continued: “My friend Adam Joyce was diagnosed with leukaemia when he was just 22, following his successful treatment he became involved with the charity and introduced me to the great things they are doing to develop new drugs and transplant treatments for patients with blood cancers.
“I have been training hard for six months and would still like to raise some money for Cure Leukaemia, so I decided that I am going cycle the distance from London to Paris in one ride, on my smart trainer and using the virtual cycling app Zwift.”
