During lockdown, families have been flocking to enjoy the warm weather at open spaces such as Weston Park.
But one resident was concerned as he passed the fish pond over the weekend to see around a hundred dead fish floating in the water.

And also a large number on the bankings- many looked like they had been gutted.”
It is not yet known if the fish were killed deliberately or if a disease has ripped through the pond, killing them.
Visiting the park yesterday, Tom Peckett said there were now ‘hundreds’ of dead fish in the pond and noted that the water was ‘very green’.

“There’s a lot of waste in the pond which will begin to rot and then pollute the water.
“It’s like if you over feed fish in a tank and the waste food sits and sends the water horrible and the fish start to die- it needs clearing out and people need to stop overfeeding the ducks.”
