Calls for more bins at Endcliffe Park as Sheffield crowds dump beer cans in river
Huge crowds spent the day at Endcliffe Park yesterday as Sheffield enjoyed the hottest day of the week after Covid rules were relaxed.
But councillor Shaffaq Mohammed said he was disappointed to see the aftermath where the bins were overflowing and rubbish strewn all over the place.

"We knew people would be coming out but clearly the number of people that were there was quite large. Although we did not receive any reports of misbehaviour, I am disappointed to see the pictures of the aftermath this morning.
"By all means, enjoy our park but if the bins are full, please try and take your rubbish somewhere and recycle it."
He also agreed that the council should provide more temporary bins at the park, called 'pop-up bins' where they can put their rubbish in.

"We have raised it consistently last year and to their credit, they did put extra bins and things got better. But we need to (do more) after seeing the amount of people being there (yesterday)," he said.
