'Put a mask on for everyone’s sake, including your own' - letter

I saw a man on the news who had an accident and went to his hospital accident and emergency department.
He was asked to wear a mask, but refused, so he was refused treatment.

Quite right too.
You know the rules, it’s a mask, or no service on the NHS.
Remember in the old days, when you went out, you would get your bag, phone and purse, maybe bags for life.
But now it’s those things, but, also, never forget mask and hand sanitiser.
I never leave home without them – I feel naked if I don’t carry them now.
It’s a pity others on the bus didn’t feel the same way.

Hide AdI have no problem wearing a mask on the bus, although others can’t or won’t wear one.
I heard one girl moaning to a friend on the bus, talking on the phone about how the mask was making her lipstick go all over her face.
First world problems?
Never mind Covid-19, it’s the fact the lippy is smudging.
Now 10 days’ notice that masks will have to be worn in shops, to give people time to prepare.
What’s to prepare?
You can get the masks in any generic supermarket, they cost a quid each.

Hide AdIf we are wearing masks, then let’s do it from today not next week.
I have avoided shops as much as possible, but if that’s what is expected of us, slipping on a mask before we go shopping, then it has to be done.
I can imagine some of those moaning were probably against wearing a seatbelt in the car.
Now you would never drive a car without one.
It’s a mask. Put one on for everyone’s sake, including your own.
