More Doncaster people in work than this time last year
In Doncaster, a total of 5,360 people claimed Job Seekers’ Allowance or Universal Credit in March 2016.
The figure is a 17 per cent fall on those receiving benefits in March 2015 - when 6,425 people were claiming.

Hide AdSince 2010, there has been a 50 per cent reduction in job seekers. Youth unemployment fell by 26 per cent year-on-year.
In March this year, 1,255 young people aged between 18 and 24 were claiming benefits, compared with 1,705 in 2015. Figures show in the last six years there has been a 65 per cent drop in youth unemployment.
Nigel Coleman, employer account manager at Sheffield’s Cavendish Court Job Centre, said: “ We’ve got some fantastic figures again - it’s absolutely phenomenal.
“If we can keep going, it won’t be long before we break more records.”
Nationally, the employment rate remains at a record high of 74.1 per cent.
