Man in hospital after having throat slashed in Rotherham

Armed police officers were called to Canklow Road at 1:30pm today, following reports that a man had received injuries to his throat.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "South Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public who had concerns for the welfare of a man on Canklow Road in Rotherham.

Hide Ad"Officers came to the man’s assistance at around 1:30pm today, Wednesday May 9.
"He has a slash wound to his neck and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
"His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
First South Yorkshire said Westgate and Alma Road will be closed until further notice.
