Hide AdBut worryingly for their supporters the new German boss has not signed ONE player during the summer.
Fan’s favourite Adam Hammill was released with a string of other players at the end of last season, while the club failed to secure defender and club captain Andy Yiadom on a new contract.
Yiadom signed a four-year deal with Reading and the Oakwell exit door has remained firmly open with Stevie Mallan (Hibernian), Matty Pearson (Luton Town) and Christoph Knasmullner (Rapid Vienna) having all left this summer.
And with exactly a fortnight to go until the start of the new season, many of the club’s supporters will be wondering when the club are going to sign ANY new players.

Hide AdReds’ Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye issued a statement on the 10thJune admitting “last season was a big disappointment” but that the club “were prepared for this [relegation] and we had a list of different player targets for each division we may have been in”.
However, over a month later and the Reds have still not signed a player, a lack of action which might cause some supporters to question the club’s desire to win promotion back to the Championship.
Ganaye stressed in his statement: “We would be lying if we said didn’t want to be going for promotion. Our fan base would not understand if we said the opposite.”
