Helen Milner receives OBE
Helen Milner received her OBE this month, after spending 30 years working in online education.
Ms Milner is Chief Executive of Tinder Foundation, a national charity based in Sheffield that works with community partners across the country to tackle the ‘digital divide.’ She also helped to establish learndirect in the city in 1999, which has gone on to become the UK’s largest provider of skills, training and employment services, supporting over 1.8 million people to gain basic digital skills since 2010.

Hide AdHelen has been working closely with Government Ministers and officials since the 1990s, to influence national policy on the digital skills agenda.
She said: “It’s wonderful to be given this award, and in my mind it belongs to Tinder Foundation and every single person who has gone online and gained digital skills since we started. We have all made a difference, and we will all continue to make a difference, and I’m very proud digital inclusion has been given the recognition it deserves.”
