A spokesman said that water levels in the River Don have finally dropped back to normal winter levels following last month’s scenes of devastation which left hundreds of Doncaster homes under water.
An Environment Agency Yorkshire spokesman said: “Water levels have dropped back to normal winter levels in the Lower Don catchment around Fishlake and the land drainage is able to manage with the flows.

“The road will reopen early this week.”
Fishlake was one of South Yorkshire’s worst hit areas when the River Don burst its banks in several places after ‘biblical’ levels of rainfall on November 7.
The area was left under gallons of flood water and residents were evacuated from their home as the area was cut off.
Homes in Bentley, Sprotbrough, Clay Lane, Scawthorpe and other parts of Doncaster were also deluged and a massive rescue and clear-up operation saw thousands of pounds donated in the space of a few days to help the worst hit.

A fundraising concert featuring Sheffield’s Everly Pregnant Brothers and Doncaster’s Bang Bang Romeo will take place at The Dome tomorrow.
