Doncaster launches its own '˜Amarillo'
Legendary local boy Tony Christie heads this year’s festival, and organisers decided to commemorate this with their own version of the Amarillo charity video.
The original was famously done by comedian Peter Kay for Comic Relief. This latest take features Conisbrough people and will benefit the vital Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity.

Hide AdTony Christie has filmed his own personal message as part of the video, that involves community groups and businesses that have sponsored this years July 1 festival.
“The response was fantastic with St Peter’s Church, Castle Academy Junior School, Conisbrough Scouts, and many local organisations joining in the fun. The aim is to raise a minimum of £500 for the YAA and raise the profile of our community event,” said Steve Pugh, festival organiser.
There are four distinct stages at this year’s Conisbrough Music Fest with music genres to suit all. Children will have their own Kidz Zone, entertainer Mr Dan, an urban beach and Punch and Judy show, along with pony rides and a bus equipped with video games.
An all-day fairground and food market will feature, plus three licensed bars
