Two men, aged 40 and 44, were due in court yesterday after being charged with the murder of a 43-year-old man in Barnsley earlier this week.
He was found seriously injured in a house on Pinder Oakes Cottages, Measborough Dike, on Monday and died in hospital two days later.
Officers found the injured man after a 44-year-old man attended Kendray Hospital with serious head injuries.
Enquiries into his condition led them to the other injured man.
There have been 19 other murder investigations launched in South Yorkshire since the beginning of the year.
