Hide AdLouise Gallagher, prosecuting, said Eddis had been in a bad mood because of an argument with a neighbour and when his ex-partner discussed him moving out he turned on her.
Ms Gallagher added Eddis launched himself at the complainant and punched and kneed her in the face and he grabbed her by the throat and punched her at the same time.
Eddis kicked the complainant and stamped on her face and punched her to the face and body, according to Ms Gallagher.

Brigid Baillie, defending, said both Eddis and his ex-partner are methadone-users and had previously been heroin-users. She added they had been in an on-off relationship for over 20 years.
Ms Baillie said that the complainant had a new boyfriend and Eddis had lost his temper and it was not a premeditated attack.
