Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on February 27 how Daniel Hayley, 34, of Birch Park Court, Kimberworth, Rotherham, had visited his ex after he had been drinking and an argument ensued.
Susan Fisher, prosecuting, said the couple had separated but Hayley had been allowed to stay over but he had been drinking when he returned and he knocked her to the floor and he broke her phone.

Hide AdHayley pleaded guilty to the assault and to causing damage after the incident on August 19.
The defendant said: I’m sorry and there is nothing I can do to change it now.”
Hayley was sentenced to a two-year community order with rehabilitation and relationship programmes.
He was given an eight-week curfew and must pay £85 costs and a £90 victim surcharge. He was placed on a three-year restraining order.
