Hide AdClark was arrested following a "prolonged argument" with his partner, at her home, on July 13, last year, but she has since withdrawn her complaint.
The court heard he has ten previous convictions, including affray in 2015 and assaulting an emergency worker in 2019.
Chris Aspinall, mitigating, said Clark didn't complete his current community order because of a "dispute" with the probation service.
The court heard he has problems with drugs and alcohol, and receives treatment for depression and anxiety.

Hide AdClark, 42, of Bawtry Road, Brinsworth, Rotherham, pleaded guilty to affray and breaching a community order, in February.
Judge Graham Reeds QC said police believed Clark had locked the woman inside her house, but a charge of false imprisonment was later withdrawn.
"In the end no one was hurt and no one was threatened with serious harm," the judge said.
"You have reached pretty much the end of the chances that the courts are going to afford you.”
