Police searched Jack Binns' black Vauxhall Astra on Bank End Road, Barnsley, after they smelled cannabis, at 11.55am, on June 17, 2019.
Prosecutor Louise Reevell said the officers found £580 in cash and £335 of the Class B drug, as well as drugs paraphernalia and two mobile phones which contained requests for drugs.

But an investigation revealed the items were bought after Binns received an insurance payout following a motorcycle accident, and he had to store them in the car following a split with his girlfriend.
A black and silver BB gun and pellets were found in the cellar of his father's house where he was living at the time, Ms Reevell added.
But he wasn’t charged with a firearms offence, the court heard.
