Sheffield thug 'who still loved woman' spared jail over attack

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on January 21 how Philip Thomas James Anderson, aged 31, of Buchanan Road, Parson Cross, assaulted the woman on December 2 and damaged her window on December 24.
Anderson, who had told police he still loved the woman, pleaded guilty to the assault and to causing damage and he admitted failing to surrender to custody on December 27.

Hide AdDistrict Judge Paul Healey had previously found Anderson had breached his bail over the New Year by contacting the complainant and the defendant had been remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing.
Anderson was sentenced to 12 weeks of custody suspended for 12 months with a rehabilitation activity requirement and a building better relationships programme.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £122 victim surcharge.
