Sheffield man Jacob Billington’s cause of death confirmed as man charged over attacks

Zephaniah McLeod, of Nately Grove, Selly Oak, Birmingham, has been charged with murder and seven counts of attempted murder after a knife attack in Birmingham in the early hours of last Sunday.
The 27-year-old is due to appear at court today.
Jacob Billington, 23, who lived and worked in Sheffield, died after being stabbed in his neck, a post mortem revealed.

Hide AdThe Sheffield Hallam University graduate returned to the city last year to take up a post as a graduate intern at the university’s library.
He was on a night out with friends from Liverpool, where he grew up, when he was killed.
His friend Michael Callaghan, also 23 and a Sheffield Hallam University graduate, was seriously injured in the knife attack.
Three people arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released pending investigation.

“Our driving focus is to secure justice for the victims, their family and friends.”
