Sheffield drug-user stole saw and plants to fund his cocaine addiction

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court – sitting at Sheffield Crown Court – heard today, Friday, May 29, how Keenan Goddard, aged 19, of Richmond Park Rise, Handsworth, Sheffield, stole the saw from a vehicle on his road and stole four plants from Asda, at Handsworth.
Kirsty Pearson, prosecuting, said Goddard threw the stolen saw over a fence on May 22 and was seen climbing into a garden and was identified from CCTV.

Hide AdShe added Goddard also stole two plants from Asda on May 24 and returned the same day and stole two more.
Goddard pleaded guilty to stealing the powesaw and admitted stealing four plants.
Paul Metcalfe, defending, said Goddard has a drug-addiction involving cocaine and cannabis but he wants treatment.
Goddard was sentenced to a nine-month community order with a 21-day curfew and a rehabilitation requirement. He must pay £100 compensation.
