Police to respond to issues raised on social media while carrying out interactive patrols in Sheffield
and live on Freeview channel 276
In a recent survey, over 50 per cent of participants said they wanted to see more police officers patrolling the streets of Parson Cross, Southey, Longley and Fox Hill.
In response, the Sheffield North East neighbourhood policing team is to carry out patrols which will be advertised on its Facebook page in advance with details of start and finishing times.

Hide AdRegular updates on the location of officers will be provided during the patrols, with team members available to respond to issues of anti-social behaviour raised on their Facebook page.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Over 50 per cent of you stated a desire to see more foot patrols throughout the areas of Parson Cross, Southey, Longley and Fox Hill.
“We will launch live foot patrols via social media, letting you the public know when we will be on foot in your area should you require us.
“We will inform you of the expected start and finish times of these patrols and send updates throughout on our current location.

The launch of this style of policing will hopefully enable a more inclusive service and continue to make us more accessible than ever before.”
