Over 100 officers were involved in a series of raids in Sheffield yesterday in the culmination of a six month operation looking at drug gangs, which are said to be responsible for a number of shootings in the city as part of turf wars.
Officers raided 21 addresses, made 10 arrests and seized a gun, drugs, thousands of pounds in cash and a number of mobile phones.

Hide AdDetective Chief Inspector Paul Murphy said: "Today police and partners are undertaking a second day of action as we work to disrupt the supply of drugs and the work of organised crime groups in Sheffield.
“Over the last six months, we have gathered a great deal of intelligence around active drug lines operating in the city. The fact that so many lines operate in a relatively small geographical area is what we believe to be the cause of incidents of violence and armed crime.
“Our work this week sees us act on the information and take action to secure addresses, protect vulnerable people and question those we believe to be involved in the supply of class A drugs.
“People in Sheffield can again expect to see an increased number of officers across the city today. I hope residents are reassured by this, however if you have any concerns, please speak to one of the officers.”
