A total of 83 dogs, all suspected to be stolen, were seized from a traveller site in Ipswich, Suffolk, on Saturday.
Microchips area being checked in a bid to identify the dogs and Suffolk Constabulary is working with police forces across the country to check miss dog databases.

Hide AdThree men and three women arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal were bailed after police questioning.
In a statement issued to The Star, the police force said: “The work to identify where the dogs may have come from is ongoing.
“As the investigation progresses we will likely be in contact with a number of forces across the country.”
The police operation was mounted as part of an investigation into a series of dog thefts.
