Underage drinking in parks and woods in Sheffield has prompted police and council action.
Following reports of children drinking and committing anti-social behaviour in Bingham Park and Whiteley Woods, both in Ecclesall, and Graves Park, which lies between Norton, Woodseats and Meadowhead, South Yorkshire Police and Sheffield Council joined forces to carry out a number of ‘enforcement visits’ to licensed premises in the city.South Yorkshire Police said: “The visits were to highlight the safeguarding issues and impact underage sales have on the local community.”
