Man arrested over murder in Sheffield remains in police custody abroad

The 25-year-old was arrested in Frankfurt, Germany, the day after 26-year-old Xiangyu Li died following a fight.
Mr Li’s was found unconscious at the junction of Union Street and Charles Street at around 3.30am on Tuesday, March 24 and despite efforts to revive him he died at the scene.

Hide AdA post mortem examination established that he died of a head injury, with detectives believing he had been involved in a fight.
Mr Li was originally from China and was living in Kent prior to his death.
He was visiting friends in Sheffield at the time of his death.
The suspect being held over the murder was arrested under a European arrest warrant.
He is a Chinese national who now lives in Sheffield.
