Man accused of attempted murder appears in court after boy was shot

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on January 18, how Stephen Dunford, aged 25, of Fellbrigg Road, Sheffield, has been charged with attempted murder and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The 12-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to his leg after emergency services were called to Northern Avenue, at Arbourthorne, Sheffield, at 3.45pm, on January 12.

Hide AdStephanie Hollis, prosecuting, claimed Mr Dunford had been in an approaching car during the alleged incident.
Police stated the youngster remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Mr Dunford’s case was committed to Sheffield Crown Court for a hearing on January 21. He was remanded in custody.
The defendant is also accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm from February in an unrelated matter.
Magistrates adjourned the assault matter for a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on February 17.
No pleas have been indicated.
