Grieving Sheffield husband appeals to public for help in bringing ‘cowards’ who killed his wife to justice

64-year-old Sue Henderson was killed by a hit-and-run driver outside her home on Foxhill Crescent in Birley on February 15 last year.
That Saturday night, she had dropped her husband off at the pub before taking a gift to a friend who was expecting a baby.

Hide AdHowever, when she got home at around 6.45pm and tried to cross the road, she was hit by a speeding car and later pronounced dead at the scene.
Speaking on the show, Sue’s husband Mick described those involved in the hit and run as ‘cowards’.
When he arrived back from the pub, he said the realisation of what had happened hit him ‘like a bolt’ and that ‘everything just drained out of me completely’.
“I felt dead myself – my life had gone,” he added.
An appeal on the BBC’s Crimewatch Live programme this morning is the secong time the case has featured on the show.

Hide AdThe new appeal said the car, a grey VW Passat with its petrol cover missing, had been ‘cruising’ in the area for most of the day, stopping off at shops before driving around some more.
After the collision, it was captured driving away from the scene on CCTV before being dumped and torched near Crowder Avenue in Southey Green.
