E-fit appeal following bogus official incident in Barnsley

Officers want to identify the man after two incidents in Darfield on December 2.
Between 1 – 2pm, a man claiming to be from the water board visited two homes on Edderthorpe Lane.

Hide AdAfter claiming that he was carrying out emergency works, he went into the properties by requesting to run the taps to check the water wasn’t discoloured.
While the first man was talking to residents in the kitchen, a second man is said to have entered the property and searched a bedroom.
In one home, cash was stolen.
The man is described as in his 30s, between 5ft 11 – 6ft tall, with short brown hair, a hi-is jacket and spoke with a local accent.
